Chateau La Chaire is a boutique historic hotel set amongst seven acres of woodlands and gardens in the Rozel Valley.

Features

Breakfast is both a buffet and a la carte, offering local Jersey produce. The Brasserie is open for lunch, and during the spring and summer, the sun terrace offers an al fresco setting. Alternatively, a two-minute stroll will take you to the hotel’s own Rozel Pub. Relax in the traditional oak panelled Raymond’s Bar and lounge to enjoy cocktails and the informal day menu of snacks and nibbles. The area offers some great views over Rozel Bay and the coast of France is only a mere 14 miles away.

Please note that, due to the hotel’s location within a valley, there are some fairly steep slopes which may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties. A perfect choice for friends or couples looking to explore.

Top tips

  • October is a fantastic time to visit and take advantage of “Tennerfest” – a fixed price food festival with menus starting from £10 per person.
  • A lot of our clients like to have a car delivered to their hotel for part or all of their stay. But Prestige can also have bicycles delivered directly to you as well, a fantastic alternative way to explore the green heart or coastal pathways that Jersey has to offer.
  • There is no VAT in Jersey so this makes it the perfect destination for retail therapy. You will find a combination of well known high street brands to boutique and local offerings

When To Go

Summer (June-August) – the island boasts some of the UK’s warmest weather and temperatures can reach a comfortable 21 degrees Celsius. This period is peak season and although the weather is favourable, costs and availability can be an issue.

Autumn (September-November) – September to mid-October can still attract some decent weather and it means you can enjoy the island when the tourists have all gone home. The sea temperatures tend to be at their warmest in September.

Winter (December-February) – Low Season. A season with unpredictable weather and very few tourists. Some properties, attractions and shops close during this period. That being said winter on Jersey can still be enjoyable, with dramatic coastlines and cosy atmospheric pubs whilst taking advantage of the much lower prices at this time of year. However please bear in mind that travel to Jersey at this time of the year can often be disrupted due to weather. This is also the best time for deserted beaches, coastal foraging, stormy photography and wild walks without another soul in sight.

Spring (March-May) – A lovely time to visit the island with spring flowers in bloom everywhere and the summer hoards of visitors have not yet arrived. Temperatures are starting to get balmy and a great time for walking the miles of nature trails on offer.
