Speyside Malt Whisky Trail

Scotland’s Malt Whisky Trail is highly unique, there is none like it in the rest of the world. The Speyside region undoubtedly lends itself to Whisky, it is home to over half the malt whisky distilleries in the country and includes seven of the world-famous distilleries still in operation today. There is also the Dallas Dhu historic distillery and the Speyside Cooperage, the only working cooperage in the UK which has a visitors’ centre. It is said that Speyside whiskies are usually lighter and sweeter than other Scotch single malts – perhaps due to the milder climates experienced due to the secluded location.

It certainly helps that the Speyside region of Scotland is undeniably beautiful, home to fertile valleys, rivers and glens. There is, dare we say it, more than whisky on offer here. There terrain varies from beaches and mountains, with a whole host of water-based activities on the River itself. There is also a lot of retail therapy to be had too!
