Glasgow Mural Trail

Within minutes of being in Glasgow you will no doubt come across huge pieces of art adorning the walls of some of the buildings. Glasgow City Council started this initiative to help brighten up the streets of the city and it also serves to support a number of local and aspiring artists. There are too many murals to name, but some of the more well-known murals include: Strathclyde University, St Enoch and Child, Billy Connolly and the Glasgow Panda.

It is possible to take a Street Art Tour with some of the locals, or it is equally as possible to explore on your own (you can download apps or get free maps to guide you). Bear in mind that these murals are spread far and wide across the city, it may be something you do in parts, but what better way to get know this fantastic city. This is a wonderful activity for all the family (and it is kind on the bank balance too!), will you be the first to spot a new piece?
